2020 has been a ‘funny’ year so far; a new storm each week for the first couple months, and then Covid-19 lockdown. Most of my remaining 2020 wedding couples have rescheduled their weddings to much further into this year, 2021 or even 2022.

I was really lucky to have been able to photograph Katherine & Stephen’s wedding in March 2020. This Park Hall Wedding took place just before the lockdown was enforced. Because of this, this wedding was truly lovely, yet somewhat surreal. Katherine & Stephen’s wedding was the very last wedding ceremony permitted at Park Hall Hotel before the country went into national lockdown at the end of March. It felt a privilege, and quite honestly, inwardly a little sad for me, to document this special day. None of us knew, from the registrars to the staff of Park Hall, when we would be allowed back. However, that didn’t dent the energy of myself or this really fantastic couple and their guests. Everyone was in high spirits and there was plenty of smiles all round.

The Park Hall Hotel boasts gorgeous gardens and a lake within the grounds. These grounds are perfect for romantic couples photographs. Following the lovely ceremony in the Medieval Banquet Hall, we made use of these areas for some photographs of the happy couple. This wedding was such a beautiful wedding to be a part of. I’m so happy for them both that their wedding was still able to go ahead despite all the worry leading up to the day. Congratulations to such a wonderful couple.
