Jaspar and Pui Yu were married on the shortest day of the year in a beautiful and intimate ceremony joined only by their immediate family. Jaspar lives in London but his family are based in Chorley while Pui Yu and her family have been living in Hong Kong. They chose Chorley as their location to celebrate their marriage to each other.

The day began at Jaspar’s parents home in Whittle-le-Woods where Pui Yu and her sister were having their hair and make-up done. Their hair and make-up was done by Hair and Beauty by Kelly, I have worked alongside Kelly on previous weddings, and also know her from my connections in scouting. Kelly and her colleague had the two sisters looking stunning, with what appeared to be effortless skill, in what seemed to be no time at all. When Pui Yu was ready there was time for a couple of photographs of her with her family and also Jaspar before they headed for Chorley Registry office at Devonshire House.

When everyone arrived at Devonshire House they assembled in the waiting area and we used the waiting time to capture a few photographs of Jaspar and his family. When the registrars were ready Jaspar and his family along with Pui Yu’s mum and sister were called through to take their seats. Pui Yu was then walked down the aisle by her father and the ceremony began. Throughout the ceremony Pui Yu was grinning from ear to ear and looked so happy and blissfully in love, the couple had even chosen their own wedding vows with special, heart felt words. Following the ceremony the couple headed for Shaw Hill Hotel.

When we arrived at Shaw Hill the weather was not in our favour. It was raining and windy so we used the beautiful backdrop of the conservatory and the gold room to capture some family and formal couple photographs. Just as were were finishing up the weather broke so we managed to capture a few outdoor photographs with the stunning scenery as a backdrop. Jaspar and Pui Yu then left me to join their families for a small intimate wedding breakfast.

It was a great pleasure to photograph Jaspar and Pui Yu’s wedding and I wish them all the very best for their future together.
