A little bit about me!

Chorley Wedding Photographer

Hello!, I'm Sarah, a Lancashire wedding photographer and I specialise in capturing weddings in a natural, honest and beautiful way.

I was born in Bolton and now live in Buckshaw Village, between Chorley and Leyland. I spent some years living down in London and while growing up I spent many years living abroad. I am a mum, wife, sister and a cub scout leader.

I enjoy capturing special moments and recording everlasting memories with people at weddings, so that they can keep that day fresh in their mind by looking back at fabulous images of themselves. My style is unobtrusive, flexible and relaxed so that people can let go and allow their true self to shine through and be captured on camera.

I get excited about taking photographs that are visually aesthetic and pleasing to the eye and make you want to stand back and say “WOW!”. I am a story teller and feel compelled to create images that tell your story with emotion, humour and soul. I take pleasure in having fun and watching others have fun and when I am capturing that, I am in high spirits.

Outside of photography I am scouter and spend most of my free time as a Cub Scout Leader with Buckshaw Village Scout Group. I am also the District Photographer on the Media Team for Chorley District Scouts as well as being the County Photographer for the West Lancashire County Scouts Media Team. A lot of my work for scouting (both at district and county level) is regularly featured in the local press as well as, occasionally, in the national scouting media. I have also had a few of my photographs shown on BBC Breakfast Time when one of our District Commissioners was awarded an OBE.

As well as photographing Portraits and Weddings I also do some commercial work. This work involves me taking candid photographs of children in Primary School for use in the Schools Prospectus’s and websites. I also take portraits of Staff for Staff ID Lanyards. Due to the sensitive nature of these school photographs it would be unethical for me to display such images on my website, therefore none of these photographs will be displayed on my website or my BLOG.

I am a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP), I am also a member of Chorley Photographic Society (CPS). I joined the photographic society in 2008 and from 2010 to 2012 I was Hon. General Secretary for the club. Between April 2012 and April 2014 I served as President of the club. I am involved in all aspects of club life, I submit to competitions and have won a few of them. Several of my images have also been included in the clubs annual exhibitions. If you would like to know more about our society, has more information on the club.

For more details on the weddings I photograph, the other work I do, the fun I have with scouting, my involvement with CPS and anything else photography related please see my BLOG and Facebook Page.
